Dubai Expo Collection

Created uniquely for the Dubai Expo 2020, Phiale is referring to the golden shallow bowl, part of the Panagyurishte treasure (early 3rd century BC), which is currently displayed in the Bulgarian Pavilion. As one of the best known surviving artefacts of Thracian culture, the Phiale has been displayed at various museums around the world. The golden item meticulously reminds of the logo of the Expo, which was greatly appreciated among all participants. Cyrilla is created especially for the Dubai Expo 2020.

She is a direct reminder of the Cyrillic alphabet - the writing system which is used in many languages in the Balkans, Eastern Europe and northern Eurasia. Tradition holds that Glagolitic and Cyrillic were formalized by Saints Cyril and Methodius and their disciples in the Preslav Literary School, the most important early literary and cultural centre of the First Bulgarian Empire and of all Slavs. With the accession of Bulgaria to the European Union on 1 January 2007, Cyrillic became the third official script of the European Union, following the Latin and Greek alphabets.
